Welcome Aboard!

Welcome to the inaugural post of the Lompoc Real Estate Blog!

You probably know several sources that will give you tons of real estate data on the national and state level. That's great - we aren't looking to replace or duplicate those sources. What you probably don't have is a resource that focuses on your home market. If you live in the Lompoc Valley, this is that resource.

This blog was started with the idea that all real estate is local. We may occasionally make mention of something happening in the bigger picture, but our focus is right here at home. When you get right down to it, that's what matters most to most of us anyway. The national averages on things like home values and sales volume don't matter much to you if you are buying or selling a home. But the local market numbers are a different story. If you're getting ready to do a six or seven figure transaction, you'd better be informed.

Here's what you can expect to see here regularly:

On Mondays, we'll post the weekly stats for the market - how many houses are on the market, how many are pending, how many price changes over the past week, and about how many months of inventory we have at the moment.

Later in the week, we'll have a focus on a specific segment of the market. It might be a neighborhood profile, a more in depth look at condos, or occasionally a look at things like the REO's or short sales.

On a periodic basis (meaning whenever the mood strikes, or when we come across something interesting), we'll post things like quarterly sales numbers or other bigger analysis projects, or some insights into news items that might affect the local real estate market.

We hope you enjoy this blog and come back to visit often. We'll try to make it informative, and maybe even occasionally entertaining. Feel free to give us some feedback in the comments section - we'd like to make this an interactive experience.

Full steam ahead!
